There is no substitute for hard work is no doubt noble in its ambitions but in the real world, that most of us inhabit, we know that there are numerous substitutes: inherited wealth, robbing banks, etc. These words are most often attributed to the American inventor, Thomas Edison but I am unable to find a verifiable source for the quotation and without such we’re best off attributing it to anonymous.
